A serious environmental player, Japan has decided to expand its roughshod whale ‘research’ programme. Now they’ll also ‘research’ the endangered humpback and fin whales. Not keen on wastage, the Japanese manage to extract 2,000,000 kgs of whale meat per year of vigorous ‘research’. Meat that later ends up in supermarkets and restaurants.
