Flight Safety
From The Economist, we have a bunch of truths about flight safety. Even though airlines like to claim ´safety is our highest priority´ it´s not quite like that at all.
- Seating facing towards the rear of the plane is safer in the event of a ´interesting´ landing. Military aircraft apparently do this, but of course who likes travelling backwards?
- The use of mobile phones does not interfere with navigation equipment or otherwise – they interfere with mobile networks on the ground.
- Don’t bother too much with the life jacket – there has never been a successful landing of a wide-bodied aircraft on water in the history of aviation.
