Last month I was in my home country as a tourist for the first time. It was an odd experience: feeling like a stranger in a place so familiar. To make the most of it, I went down to my favourite beachside spot, Byron Bay, and also up to the Whitsundays, where there was fantastic warm weather. Most of the winter days in Australia were warmer than the summer days in back in Oslo.
It was meant to be a trip of reflection, thinking about what’s been done, my multitude of mistakes and also to consider what’s next. However I can’t seem to put my finger on a single solid conclusion from the whole three weeks. At least it was a chance to catch up, enjoy quality beaches and have a few Australian beers.
