Clint's Webcam 3.0

Main webcam window

What is it?

View webcams from around the world without looking at annoying advertisements, and un-necessary clutter. Add new webcams, set refresh rates, stay on top and other viewing modes.

Note: The images this program retrieves are copyright of their respective owner. Please do not use this program to bypass security mechanisms any pay-per-view webcam has.

Webcam Manager step 1
This is the first step of creating a new webcam. You must at least fill out the fields in the Required frame. This is also the same interface used when editing a camera.

The update frequency set of options lets you set how often this camera should be updated when used.

All the other fields are for any extra information you wish to store about the camera. The main website URL is a URL to the camera’s hosting page/website. When you are viewing the camera, clicking on its image will take you to this URL.

HINT: Clicking the icon to the right of the URL textboxes lets you test if the URL is valid

Second step
In this second step of creating a new webcam, you choose where you want to place the new cam. From here you can create a new folder (which is added under the currently selected one), open Explorer and refresh the list.

If you want to rename a folder, or rearrange it, it’s easiest to use Explorer. Once you have the folders and files organised, hit the refresh button.

Errata

  • The whole menu system is in a context-sensitive right-click menu. You can access it by right clicking in the camera tree panel, or the main webcam view panel.
  • Cams are stored as files on disk. It uses an extended format of Internet Explorer’s favourites file format. This lets you bookmark images within IE and use them in Clint’s Webcam, and vice-a-versa.
  • Since the cams are file based, you can use your favourite file manager to organise them however you want. If the program is running while you are doing this, just make sure you choose the refresh button/menu choice.
  • Hovering your mouse over a loaded image tells you some information about it.
